But that's exactly what happens to the combined age of my bottles when I get more of them - they accumulate an extra year more quickly. Is this an exponential effect where n>x>1? The parenthetical “(as x increases)† was meant to make clear that x is increasing but n held constant. I did read it but was asking the question of variability of n. You have not mentioned e^x which is an exponential function.
