I didn't vote all the way down the card. I don't trust that man Cockburn.

So if I accept that the overwhelming majority of people called Derek want a Cockburn vertical, what bottles could people contribute?
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Where I come from, that's not really a reliable source of any worthwhile information.

I've definitely got some Cockburn, 70 for sure and some others. I suppose this isn't that helpful, but I do live near Peter Wylie wines and could nip in for their preposterously over priced 35 or 55.

Wow. Those prices are properly preposterous. But the 55 might be worth it; 220 / 14 = just below £16 each. And you are making yourself available, Owen, which is a priceless gift.

To be fair to Peter Wylie, whilst he does charge top whack I have never been disappointed by anything I have bought from him. The attention to detail in his condition reports is second to none and you get what you see. I have used him a few times with team cash to plug critical gaps in big verticals, although I agree it is not the first place to go to start building a line-up.

Cheap is not a charge that could be easily levelled at him, but like Derek everything I have had from them has been good. And in hindsight I have had some good prices, the 33 Malmsey for £75 doesn't look too shabby. But the no credit card thing is a pain and they have never given me a penny off the list price.

So far we have identified access to the following vintages:
1935 - Peter Wylie
1947 - JDAW
1955 - Peter Wylie
1963 - flash_uk, IDJ
1967 - JDAW, IDJ
1970 - LGTtrotter, JDAW, DRT, IDJ
"Some others" - LGTrotter

I'll add to this list as and when I can.

As previously flagged up, I can also cover the Ck63, 67 and 70. There's also a purported bottle of the 1912 up for auction in Cardiff on 25 Feb, with an estimate of £300-£500. The 55s have also come up at auction a few times in the last year and so if a waiting game can be played, it wouldn't be necessary to have to resort to retail (although you'd of course be taking more of chance with regards the condition than retail).

I've 1955 and if I can't make it Daniel can bring it no doubt. I've also a half bottle of 1950 I can spare if thàt's any use.

This is true selflessness. Those half bottles are wonderful, as some here already know.
Please try and make it Justin; are there times of year that might suit you better if this is happening in London?

Daniel, no particular time just need plenty of notice. A trip to London is way overdue.

I was thinking of making this some time in early 2016. I have a good selection of older Cockburn but am hammering my cellar already this year for another offline. If we wait until 2016 I can reach deeper into the cellar without depleting it too rapidly.

Would 6-9 months be adequate notice?

Like Justin, plenty of notice is very helpful for me. But even if this were not the case I would still wait patiently for you Alex. :D

Clearly if there is a Ck vertical, the '70 should come from DRT
I only have two left from that stash, both of which I am happy to reserve for that purpose.
