1983 Graham

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Rose red rim, brick centre, 60% opaque. Lively nose full of cinammon and woodsmoke. Silky smooth entry with soft raisin and cherry fruit. Delicious layering and complexity which builds up on the palate to give greater and better depth. Spicy but a surprisingly dry aftertaste and finish with a great length. The cocoa tannins promise a long life still to come. 92/100. Tasted 24-Feb-15.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
