We gathered in The Boot & Flogger for non-Symington non-TFP ≤1994 Ports, in the presence of Henry Shotton.

S60 (IDJ). Mid-red, 30% opaque. Others found TCA. Palate hot, with a sensation of burnt red cherry.

30% opacity, brown-orange, cloudy. Mildly TCA. A little thin and hot, little or no tannin. Guessed to be Fe63.

Copper red colour, 30% opaque; attractive in appearance. A very slight taint of TCA on the palate, but this seems to fade with time in the glass which is not consistent with TCA taint. There is a woody element to the palate but with powerful fruit. Lifted and elegant fruit aftertaste with a good, long and mouth-filling finish. Lovely port. Served blind this was guessed to be Ferreira 1960. 89/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
