2012 Bulas

Deep purple and opaque. Gentle nose with green leaves and slightly aggressive blackcurrant. The acidity leads on entry with the tannins dominating the mid-palate and swamping the fruit. Patience with the palate allows the fruit to win though but never quite enough to be perfect. A very intense port. 92-94/100. Tasted 05-Mar-15.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
