1981 Burmester Colheita (bottled 2015)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2015. Deep copper colour, 50% opaque. A lovely fragrant nose of acacia honey and the twist of VA I expect to find on fine old tawny port, attractive and balanced. Lovely fruit on entry, rich and delicious and with a fine complexity and depth. The finish is of burnt sugar and lasts well. The balance is a great aspect to this port. 92/100. Tasted 05-Mar-15.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
