Purple and scarlet with a wide rim. Fragrant nose of fruit and flowers. Satin smooth but rather hollow entry and the first impression is of a rather unpleasant edge of bitterness on the palate. The tannins are modest but the acidity is cutting. Chewy rhubarb finish of impressive length. 89-91/100. Tasted 05-Mar-15.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
