Ruby red with early browning. Attractive nose of bruised red plums. Neutral entry with some gentle fruit but surprisingly light on the palate. The tannins are firm and powerful compared to the fruit but combine to give a disappointing palate. The aftertaste is fragrant and fruity. A very elegant and light style of port. 84/100. Tasted 5 Mar 2015.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
