2010 Sandeman LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2014. Very dark red with a narrow transparent rim. Subdued on the nose, showing only a little fruit. Gentle, sweet blackcurrant fruit over the top of strong and slightly green tannins. The palate is big and impressive; the aftertaste dominated by the fruit and the finish lingering and lovely. This is a great, big LBV full of exuberant fruit and with the structure to mature and develop in the cellar for 2-3 decades. 93/100. Tasted 05-Mar-15.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
