One of two bottles purchased recently from BidForWine.com
A fabulous red fruit smell whilst decanting. The colour is just what would be expected of a mature claret. The nose is a little more vegetal in the glass (D+0) but still encouragingly rich. Quite full and smooth in the mouth but it quickly becomes very dry. At first I thought the wine must be drying out but on a second visit I think it might not be ready!
I will finish this glass and pour another in an hour or two to see if it opens up.

Very curious to see how this turns out, and to know whether Chasse-Spleen has the legs to go the distance. I suspect it does but I'm glad you've volunteered to find out.

This is now absolutely delicious. Full and warming with lots of pepper and spice and a lovely long, soft finish.
