1983 Warre
Attractive colour. On first decanting this was rather smelly and sulphurous but 22 hours in the decanter allowed almost all of the cabbage smell to dissapate. Sweet on the palate, full of strawberries and bubblegum, with enough acidity to keep the balance. Improved further with more time in the decanter. Never a complex and dramatic port, but nice comfort drinking. 85/100. Drunk 16-Mar-15. Decanted 22 hours.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
