2004 Dalva

Dark red, no purple. Slightly harsh nose with sour red fruit. Sour fruit shows on the palate still slightly blackcurrant-ey but with some secondary fruit flavours beginning to show. Good acidity and soft tannins give a pleasant structure and leads on to a gentle finish of charcoal tannins and jammy fruit. Pleasant, but by no means great, port. 85/100. 06-May-15.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
