2001 Graham Malvedos

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Attractive red with hints of brown, opaque centre. Gentle nose of soft fresh red fruit compote and raspberry coulis. There is a nice balance on the palate although it is a touch hollow on entry then a lovely soft fruit presence spreads across the palate. Soft and gentle tannins on the late palate. These fade and integrate to deliver a lingering soft sweet red fruit presence. Sweet jammy fruit runs through the aftertaste to the lingering and chewy fruit and licorice root finish. Pleasant mid-quality port. 86/100. 06-May-15.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
