2010 Quinta da Gaivosa LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled in 2014. From Alves de Sousa. Sealed with a driven cork. Deep red colour with a narrow rim. Lovely nose, full of sweet blackcurrant, smooth and velvety in texture. The fragrant blackcurrant leads the way but with a terrific balance from the acidity and allows a lovely fragrance to come through on the late palate. A wonderful aftertaste and a very lively finish. Delicious LBV. 91/100. May 2015.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
