NV Quinta dos Murcas Tawny 10YO (bottled 2013)

Quinta dos Murças was bought "a few years ago" by Herdade do Esporao. This 10 yo tawny was bottled in 2013. Copper red in colour, 30% opaque. Chilled, showing little on the nose, very subdued. Sweet and gentle entry, a touch watery in texture and with a light palate of walnuts and quince paste. Very mild flavour profile but with a nice balance. Thoroughly inoffensive but there are better 10 yo tawnies. As an aside, it was mentioned that Murcas made a vintage port in 2011. 84/100. May 2015.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
