Bottled by Peatling & Cawdron. An unknown bottle identified from the branding on the cork.
Deep orange-brown in colour, looking mature and at peak drinking; 50% opaque. Orange treacle on the nose, sprinkled with orange water - a lovely nose, so perfumed and inviting. Thick in texture, sweet but full of fruit. This grows very big on the palate, intense but with a cutting acidity that keeps the balance very well. Orange treacle and burnt sugar on the long, long finish. An astonishing port. Served blind but with some clues, this was guessed to be Cockburn 1955. 93/100. 27-Oct-15. 4½ hour decant.
