I do have a problem however. For many of the smaller producers I only have one bottle of their 2011 vintage. For which event should I keep them?

This is exactly why I've been buying them in twos. One is one and all alone and ever more shall be so.

That is a good plan. On 24th April 2051 you will only have 10, 1 and 3 bottles remaining. Do not throw them away so recklessly after that otherwise you might run out

The Vieira de Sousa and Barão de Vilar aren't SQVPs. I'll have to check the label on the Morgadio. I don't think it is technically a single quinta, but it might be the closest to qualifying. Of course if the intent of the earlier tasting is just to try things that might not go the distance ...

Having consulted one of my colleagues from Actuarial it seems that a number of the members currently in places 1 to 14 will be unavailable to attend and therefore in no need of a runner. A greater than average number of cold winters between now and 2051 might mean we require more reserves!

Over the past 5 years I appear to have acquired a handful of other bottles from the 2011 vintage. I will put neck labels on them to ensure I don't drink them before St George's Day 2051.

The additional bottles I could contribute to the tasting are:

• Berry Brothers Own Label {magnum}
• Duorum
• Quinta de Vale Meao
• Quinta do Infantado
• Quinta do Passadouro
• Quinta do Sagrado
• Taylor Vargellas Vinha Velha

And I believe someone acquired some bottles of Quarles Harris from Trader Joe to ensure that particular port could make an appearance at this event.
