1977 Graham

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

From magnum. Lovely deep colour, a very dark red; 80% opaque. Baked and a touch Madeirised on the nose with a sour edge. Nice texture, a smooth satin. Baked apples on the palate with a powerful dry tannin core. Generous fruit, but the fruit is light and sharp. Warm aftertaste. Surprisingly lightweight and an odd showing. 87/100.

Tasted at the Berry Brothers Port Walk on 26 November 2015.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
