Site performance
Site performance
I think Glenn remarked recently that he thought the pages were slow to load, following the recent software upgrade. I'm also finding response times quite sluggish.
Is it possible that something like table indexing has been switched off through the upgrade?

Re: Site performance
The service provider has been having problems again, with all sql databases offline this morning, servers down and data losses over the last couple of weeks.
Re: Site performance
The database index was rebuilt and the server cache purged as part of the upgrade. I have not experienced any particular issues other than the outages caused by the hosting company but if specific issues are posted here (including details of the equipment and operating system being used, perhaps other users with similar set-ups will be able to suggest solutions.

Today, for me, it is swift. Two days ago, for me, it was appalling slow.
Re: Site performance
Yes same here. All very speedy now. The elves must have fixed something.jdaw1 wrote:Today, for me, it is swift. Two days ago, for me, it was appalling slow.
Re: Site performance
The site has been consistently slow for me since the upgrade. It does not fit any pattern that I would call a temporary outage or temporary database issue.
I'm still using the same software as always. Win8.1U/IE11 at home, Win7/IE11 at work. I have also tried Chrome at work, but it's no faster.

Re: Site performance
No problems here at the moment since the last outage and following slowness a couple of days ago which now seems resolved.
Re: Site performance
Working, but slowly. How is it for others?
Re: Site performance
Site response times seem to have plummeted again.
Re: Site performance
We haven't changed anything in the settings for weeks so this can only be either the general performance of the shared server we sit on at our host (which we can do nothing about unless we move home) or it is a problem for individual users due to conflicts/issues with whatever local network or desktop they are accessing the site from.
I have to say I have not noticed any slowness on either my Mac or iPhone.

Might just be me then. Tried both home and mobile 4G and both slow. But actually right now, much better!DRT wrote: ↑14:34 Sun 05 Mar 2017 We haven't changed anything in the settings for weeks so this can only be either the general performance of the shared server we sit on at our host (which we can do nothing about unless we move home) or it is a problem for individual users due to conflicts/issues with whatever local network or desktop they are accessing the site from.

Re: Site performance
Currently working for me. So if there’s a fault, it could well be intermittent.
Re: Site performance
Amazon S3 brought down parts of the internet last week, could it have been fallout from that?
