1985 Calem

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Brick red and still 90% opaque. Dusty cherries on the nose, ripe and mature. Served a little chilled this probably caused it to lead with the tannins but it has the fruit and acidity to last to its 50th birthday but this all combines to give a lovely texture. Great length. Rather a brute of a port, still so young. 91/100. Tasted 02-Mar-16.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
