2013 Quinta do Couquinho

Dona Maria Adelaide blend from Quinta do Couquinho, produced by Maria Adelaide Melo e Trigo. An elegant purple colour. An attractive nose of sweet cooked blackberry. Sweet fruit showing on the palate but still containing unintegrated aguardente. Nice fruit, generous tannins and good acidity. Lovely fruit based aftertaste and a long finish. This is a brilliant debut from a new producer. 91-93/100. Tasted 02-Mar-16.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
