50 years ago, the 1966 vintage was born. A few of us gathered at The Boot & Flogger to discuss the vintage.
1966 Fonseca
Re: 1966 Fonseca
50% opacity, warm dark rich red. Wonderful candied rich nose. Smooth, rich, syrupy mouthfeel, gentle heat mid to end. Fruits very present - cherries and strawberries. Great balance.

The deepest brick-red colour of the flight of the 1966 vintage, 70% opaque. Bruised red plums on the nose, livened with star fruit giving a pleasant freshness. Sweet, smooth caramel texture with intense fruit on the palate - elegant and fresh and with a lovely balance. Sweet, syrup fruit aftertaste; a long finish of sweet fruit with a surprising flash of tannins part-way through. A lovely, lovely complete port. 95

F66. Dark dark red, 50% opaque. Palate dark fruited, lighter than previous F66s. Long. Strange dark pepper.
