1996 Barros Colheita (bottled 2016)

Bottled 2016. Light olive brown colour, 40% opaque. Slight almond paste nose. Smoothly textured, slightly hollow in flavour at first but bringing pleasant honey tones to the mid-palate. Honey persists with a bitter edge to the finish. Good mouthfilling finale showing some tannins. 85/100. 22-Apr-16
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
