1999 Ferreira Leda

Quinta da Leda from Sogrape. Dark red colour with no purple, opaque centre. Delicious on the nose, thick with fruit that nicely balances ripeness with sourness. Light entry bringing rapsberry fruit, slightly sour with the acidity showing strongly and still with plenty of tannins. Juniper and cranberry combine on the late palate. This is floral, elegant and refined. 87/100. 22-Apr-16.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
