NV Boeira Tawny Reserve

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

www.quintadaboeira.pt A new entrant to the market who buys wines from winemakers in the Douro and has them blended by one of TFP's wine-making team. The quinta is based in Vila Nova de Gaia (behind the Yeatman Hotel) and currently owns no vineyards.

The wines used to blend this reserve tawny have an average age of about 7 years. Copper red in colour with a gently fruity nose and a gently fruity arrival on the palate with lots of orange caramel and brown sugar. Gentle heat on the aftertaste and a long finish. An impressive and tasty entry level tawny. 87 04-May-16
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
