About 2,5 years ago, I got to taste the best and most special Vintage Port I ever had so far, from a family member's birthyear. Which port did I drink?

You've already got the vintage right, shipper's wrong though.

Vintage is correct, shipper's wrong though.

This particular shipper's is not very well known in The Netherlands (little clue).

It's not Andresen. The bottle is showing in the middle of the picture that goes with my name right with my reactions. Unfortunately nothing of the bottle label was left on that bottle, only the bottle capsule told of the shipper.

No, it's not Calem. The shipper I'm looking for is just about as known as Calem (maybe even somewhat lesser than that) in The Netherlands. There also seems to still be an 1815 VP from this shipper on the market somewhere ...

We have a winner! :D :660000: The only way we could make out the shipper was a (fading) stamped bottlecapsule.

The VP itself was still in excellent condition. This was my first experience with a VP of that age (60 years in bottle).

DRT's up!

At around 2am tomorrow morning I leave home to travel Stansted Airport to fly to Oporto, landing at around 09:00. I will then drive into the Douro to meet Oscar and spend Saturday afternoon and evening with him.

On Sunday morning I will return to Oporto and meet Roy, Andy, Rute Monteiro and her boyfriend Joao. What will follow is obvious.

On Monday morning I will visit the IVDP library.

On Monday afternoon I may be meeting Dominic Symington for a light lunch and will then be meeting Miguel Corte-Real and Roy for dinner.

I will fly back to London on Monday evening at 20:45 and will be staying in a hotel at the airport.

How many different ports will I drink between now and my arrival at my hotel on Monday night?

The answer will obviously not be known until Monday evening* and I do not expect to be online between now and then.

Derek

DRT has, by text, told me the answer and asked me to act. Well, I was miles out. The closest guess (wrong by 1) was from Glenn E., and the second-closest (wrong by 2) was also from Glenn E.

The answer apparently includes Noval Crusted 1962, Dalva Golden White Colheita 1952, and Cockburn 1977. The answer presumably doesn’t include his enjoyment of ‟D'Oliveira Verdelha 1912”.

Leaving only 26, which has also been posted elsewhere.

I'm about to leave for Europe, though, so it would be best if someone else continue with the next question.
