One quiz at a time
One quiz at a time
What Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film is now playing, for at least the dozenth time, in the Wiseman household?
{If you get it right, you then have to pose an equally useless but guessable question. If you guess wrong, you can’t guess again until somebody else has had a guess, or until a new question is posed (which would happen because a previous guess is marked ‘correct’).}

Wrong.
{Reminder: next guess can’t come from DRT.}

Knitting?

Mountaineering?
Re: One quiz at a time
No, no, and no.
The first two guesses were not sports, though she counts both as hobbies, and this is a recognized and legitimate sport.
Also, you need not know anything about my wife in order to figure it out, though some very basic knowledge of the sport and its subculture is probably necessary.

I think I know but I may not guess until somebody else does.

Correct!
k2 is a dual purpose signifier - it represents both her initials and the brand of her board, boots, and bindings. DangerGirl comes from the way she used to ride... we're both older and significantly less crazy now.

We were rubbish.
Let’s have one that will be easier for Derek. What big-year port have I just decanted? It is the second bottle of this Symington port that I have opened this year.

Alas no. Alas no.
Re: One quiz at a time
I’d forgotten that I’d had a D85 this year. But not today no.
Also, seeing how this game is going, the rules above have been edited for clarity:

No. You appear to be ignoring the most recent clue.

Not really - my connection lost all pertinent information and it was the last thing I had.jdaw1 wrote:No. You appear to be ignoring the most recent clue.

Re: One quiz at a time
The most recent clue led me to a guess that has already been used - 1985 Dow.
I'm afraid that I am stumped. It appears that the answer is either a 1970 or a bottle for which JDAW did not author a TN thread.
But I will flail blindly nevertheless and guess 1970 Gould Campbell.

No and no.
Symington.
Big year.
Had one this year though I did not author the TN thread.
Extra clue:
Drinking the following day must have a long recommended decant time! What does that suggest about the age?
Extra extra clue:
Not 1970.

I got all those clues... except that since you originally said it was one that you opened this year I read that to mean your bottle, and therefore likely a thread you authored.jdaw1 wrote:Symington.

I'll have another guess in the morning.

Re: One quiz at a time
So what might have caused somebody else to author a thread about a bottle I opened?
Re: One quiz at a time
Well I was going to say a themed tasting, but KillerB already guessed it.jdaw1 wrote:So what might have caused somebody else to author a thread about a bottle I opened?

The guess I'd worked up overnight was going to be a G85, but I needed to check it before posting. Too late, and wrong anyway.
C'mon KillerB, next quiz is yours!

Haddock.
Could we get a hint or a clue, so that we can do more than wild guessing? (E.g., my first question said ‟Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer”, and by saying ‟at least the dozenth time” suggested child compatibility.)
