Your mother replied in Kg? I’m surprised.
It surprised me as well, especially as I didn't suggest a UOM, but my mother is full of surprises.

Let's check your historical and geographical knowledge:

In which town did I grew up?

1st hint: It is one of the former capitals of the so called "Low Countries".

A foolish guess, I agree, as you are definitely not Walloon, but a city nonetheless.

You're not as impressed as I am - that was the luckiest guess ever !!!! - I looked up Low Countries on Google, clicked on Wiki and picked the first town I had never heard of

Last week I bought a bottle of 1958 Warre VP. Which UK merchant bottled it?

Not my turn yet. When it is, if it hasn’t yet been guessed, then I guess Hatch, Mansfield & Co, or, failing that, Randolph Payne & Sons.

Surely that's asking two questions in one go? Isn't that cheating?

But in case it isn't cheating, I guess St James Street

If it wasn't for the fact you are cheating by answering a second question rather than the only one allowed I would tell you that an abrieviated version of that street name would be the correct answer to the second question.

Next clue - I think the standard form of the name of this street and the shipper is an apostrophe crime, but I'm probably wrong.

It’s horrible, but names of places, like those of people, are what they are. See this picture and this map (politely ignoring the typo over the square gardens).

St James's is fine, like Mr Jones's car.

Right, it's Halloween. I bought in some sweets for kids that come knocking and for my Karate dojos. How many chocolate-based pieces did I get?

I am not suggesting that they will all go to kids, oh no, I always buy more than I need and I try my best to frighten the little sprogs by making the house look Satanic, have lightning coming from the chimney and a 6'6" bouncer on the door, who answers it with a deep, long "Yeeeeeeessssss?" This way I get to keep most of it for myself.

A piece could be a small packet of buttons or mini crunchie - that sort of size.

No. Only 72 chocolate-based pieces.

Which is so certain to be correct that I had better start thinking of a question.
