Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Should be right about 55

Roughly one per week at home - about 42
Less a dozen LBV etc - thus about 30 of VP at home
Plus about 25 bottles at the Bunghole, etc.

If your 2011 vintage review had 30+ ports and there were 44 bottles of vintage port opened at your 63 tasting, it must have been slim pickings in the household for the rest of the year!

I suspect the 30+ 2011s don't count because they were cask samples given by shippers and therefore never made it to AHB's cellar list.

Spinach and fresh parsley are high in iron, so presumably those would be the culprits. Avoid.

Good luck with getting the correct answer.

And despite RAYC's suggestion that the definition of my cellar is flawed, I only classify a bottle as coming from my cellar if it has been recorded on my cellar list.

It's primes! but I'm about 5 pages too late :( I have been away on holiday without forum access, hence lack of response to prompting. Having never heard of Kölsch, I'll just have to take a google-guess: Gaffel?

No, I actually avoid Gaffel.
While you are google-guessing, I will give out some hopefully entertaining information on our local beer:
In the traditional brewery pubs it's customary that the waiter will bring a new beer when he sees that your glass is empty. So there's a constant "supply" without ordering another glass. If you don't want another beer, you indicate this to the waiter by putting the beer mat on top of the glass.

I noticed about the automatic refills on Wikipedia when I searched on google for Kölsch; It also mentioned that "the waiters in traditional pubs are expected to use fairly rough, unrefined language, which might include crude jokes with the customers". I would have included a jokey example, but fear my post would be 'adjusted' by DRT google-friendly-forum-police our marvellous forum moderators ;)

Yes, waiters used to be fairly rude with customers, mostly due to the fact that they would drink beer themselves. But even in those pubs times have changed. Nowadays, waiters are not allowed to drink beer while on the job in most pubs and some pubs even have courses how to treat customers (especially tourists) corectly.
Here is some information on the Köbes, as waiters in Kölsch pubs are called: http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6bes
An example for their former rudeness, that would not offend in this forum could be this: when you ordered a glass of water in Kölsch pub, the waiter would ask you if he should bring soap as well.

Well, if you ask so nicely for a clue:
It's not one of the big names, but a family-run brewery for 5 generations. So the Niepoort of Kölsch, in a way.

By the way: Eric Asimov wrote an article about this beer:
