Something(s) from the SMWS?

My next guess will be ‟An offer to butle for an evening when he and chums are going to taste said fine spirits?”

Yes, that's what I'm edging towards. Just wondered if the whisky buyers amongst us had any other specific recommendations.

In one guess. That was quick. So, it’s my question.

What am I drinking?

Talisker Port Ruighe is extremely nice, and fuses your twin interest in whisky and Port.

Very reasonable guess, but that decanter was finished a few hours before the question was asked, as was the decanter of Tesco 1994.

Hmm. Let's follow the crumb-trail of clues!

The Offley LBV is finished.
The Tesco 1994 is finished.

It can only be one thing: Sandeman Vau 1999 from double magnum?

I think you could have pop'n'poured a traditional Warre LBV, just as I have; perhaps even the same one, a W82LBV ?

The answer will not surprise, but is not that particular unsurprising answer.

Perhaps a new rule: anyone who posts a comment on someone else's guess (or some other inane comment) without including a guess of their own is deemed to have had their turn.

What say the team?

Good point. I was thinking more of the habitual "I'm going to comment but not guess because I don't want to ask a question"-type behaviour.

I’m less attentive to this thread than others who also should be working on The Book, but what I’ve seen is people being non-possessive about questions. If X has won, and has nothing to ask, and Y says ‟I have a question”, Question Mastership is then quickly conceded. At least often enough.

Also, please note that I wasn't being dilatory. The questions asked were not being answered in the same order; not that this is unusual, but I wanted clarification before enquiring further. And then we had dinner, and then I changed out of my woodman's clothes and then we went out.

Well actually I didn't ask a question; not a quiz question per se. I asked for advice, which was taken as a question, and then Julian asked a question. So I was cleared of my obligation to you.
Give an answer or forever hold your peace.

It wasn't a clue. It was a request to speed up the guessing.
This didn't come from a pig. Though it did come from a four-legged animal.
