Later today I will be on a plane, and might subsequently have difficulty monitoring answers. So I shall step aside and make way to the first person to ask a question in my stead. Be speedy, be ‘up’.

(But I might guess an answer to the question. If that guess is correct, the right to question will devolve onto whoever leaps in first, excluding the person who asked the question of which my guess was correct.)

OK. I'll do it.

Another port question. What was the last port that I purchased (shipper and vintage)?

AHB’s question stands, because he read my instructions more carefully. If I guess the correct answer to that, then AHB can’t be next.

Vesuvio 1992? (This answer might become correct, even if it isn’t now.)

No. At least, not when I wrote the question.

Should I start giving clues? Should I say whether shipper or year is correct? I think not, for the moment. The question should not be too difficult to answer.

However, for the sake of clarity, I will reword the question to be:

Fair enough, I had no intention of asking another question as they seem too cryptic for most.

Vesuvio 1996

No.

I am feeling more charitable so will give clues. Not Vesuvio (that was the last-but-one purchase).

Not Vesuvio, not 1996, nor 1991, nor 1992.

No one yet? Ok, I'll jump.

This one should be easy if you do a bit of homework with Google.

Summer isn't really peak season for tourism in Oman. It is simply too hot and humid to spend any time outside. But there is one region in the country where -quite surprisingly- the tourism season has just started. Why is this and what is there to see this time of year?

This was obviously too easy. :)

During Khareef (rain season) thousands of Omani's and citizens of other GCC countries head to Salalah to see the rain.

JDAW, or someone else?

I have a perfect question, but cannot ask it because the answer cannot be revealed for a couple of weeks. I will endeavor to correctly answer someone else's quiz at the appropriate time so that the question can then be used.

Sod it - I will have a go then.

I have made two desserts this week, which I don't do often. One is a British classic, the other is considered an American classic. They are connected by ingredients, more so than can be expected, but his maybe a red herring (which is not an ingredient). What were they?

Correct - this was obviously too easy! Unlike guessing Mary Poppins which was nigh on impossible.

I made an American-style baked cheescake on Tuesday as we were having a team thing at work. Made a strawberry compote and a blueberry one to go with it. There was some remaining of both which went into the Bread and Butter Pudding, along with some raspberries. Other common ingredients include cream and eggs.

As my previous question was undoubtly to easy, this one will be somewhat more challenging.

What was the last book I read?

It was a non-fiction book, in English (would be too difficult otherwise). I will give more hints along the way, so the keen observer should be able to guess.

Nope, all wrong, but AHB made the right analysis. It's about food. Moreover, it's writtten by a British newspaper journalist.

From the lack of answers I'll derive that it's still too difficult. Have a look at the initial post where I asked the question. I already gave you the name of the newspaper there.

Now that you know that it is a non-fiction book from a British newspaper journalist, whose newspaper I've already given away, handling about food (extra hint), do you have enough for another guess?

So far this week - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday I have done a different physical activity each day - name all three in order. I will do the Mastermind thing - 000 - none correct, 222 - all correct in right order, 111 - all correct wrong order, 210 - one correct right place, one correct wrong place, one incorrect - you know the score.

Anybody with a passing knowledge of the Darkness, will probably end up singing "Dancing on a Friday Night".
