2005 Niepoort

Deep red, opaque and still with some youthful magenta. Harsh nose with fruit, but it is sour fruit. On the palate this also has sour fruit and big tannins. The palate is great, big and robust. The big presence carries through to the big finish, full of chewy blackcurrant skins and caramelized sugar. 91/100. 06-May-15.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
