2013 Quinta do Vesuvio

Cask sample. Intense purple with a tiny rim. A wonderful nose of blackcurrants and lavender. The blackcurrant immediately dominate the palate with powerful tannins wrapped around the exuberant fruit - a delicious fruit-led palate. The fruit also dominates the aftertaste before a chewy, dark chocolate finish full of bitter cherry. This is lovely port. 90-92/100. May 2015.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
