2012 Niepoort LBV

Cask sample. Mid-red in colour with a medium rim. Ogen melon on the nose, gently fruity. A touch of green disquiet on entry, but it settles to allow modest blue fruit and powerful tannins to show. The fruit is fresh and focused and leads to an enjoyable aftertaste of fruit backed by tannin. 89/100. 22-Apr-16
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
