1963 Warre
Drunk at the restaurant Blini in Vila Nova de Gaia. Mature brick red colour, 50% opaque. Gentle nose of black fruits stewed with cloves. Smooth and round on the palate, gently spiced, managing to combine sweetness and richness with elegance. Some sweet fruit shows on the aftertaste before a long, red cinnamon finish of great length. A lovely elegance to the port. 91/100. Drunk 30-Sep-16. Decanted 5 hours.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
