From Wadebridge Wines. Deep red, the colour of black cherries; 95% opaque. Some harshness on the nose, but under the astringent lime is some delicate floral perfume that hints at promise. On the palate this is completely different from the nose with powerful baked cherry and damson fruit packed with tannic power and a strong backbone of acidity. Still very fresh and floral on the mid-palate this is a very youthful port. The acidity shows on the aftertaste before a big, black chocolate and sour cherry finish takes hold and stays in the mouth for a good two minutes. A good port that has several decades to go before reaching its peak. 89/100. Drunk 31-Oct-16.
