Bottled 1972. Produced by Correa Ribeiro Filhos Lda of Oporto and imported to France by William Pitters of Bordeaux.
Chestnut brown in colour with a slight haze ot the wine, 40% opaque. Stewed apricots show on the nose, surprisingly pronounced. The acidic structure of the wine shows on entry onto the palate, bringing sweet fruit and a generous mouthful of dried figs and dates that contrasts nicely with the slightly bitter lemon acidity. The aftertaste is somewhat hot but leads to an enjoyable slightly burnt caramelized cranberry finish of gentle volume but good length. 85/100. Drunk 14-Dec-16.
