1983 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A bottle from the Naval & Military Club (@ £77). Full in flavour with deep dark cherries on the palate and a surprising dryness at the end of the palate. Later, one of the group detected heat, which passed me by unless it was the white peppercorn on the finish. Not a blockbuster of a port, a delicious Warre. 89/100. Drunk 23-Jan-17. Decanted 1 hour.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
