NV Quinta do Noval Tawny 10YO (bottled 2016)

Bottled 2016. A mature brick red colour, 30% opaque. Little showing on the nose. Rather empty initially on the palate; then a little coffee and caramel infused with lavender. Modest acidity and some tannins hiding in the coffee leads to an aftertaste of milk coffe and a long finish of bitter-sweet kumquat in with the coffee. Disappointing. 81/100. Drunk 01-Mar-17.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
