2014 Ramos Pinto Bom Retiro

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

From Ramos Pinto. Deep purple with a narrow rim. Muted on the nose with blackcurrant, herbs and crushed leaves; very young and fresh. Smooth texture with tannins lurking under the fruit. Lighter in style and elegant on the palate with big tannins on the mid-palate. Chewy finish with herbs and flowers steeped in fruit. Dark cherries and black chocolate with lots of tannins in the smooth fruit. 89-91/100. 23-Jun-17. Decanted 1 hour.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
