Mid red colour, looking to be in the early stages of maturity. An odd smell to the port, baked and full of ammonia. Lacks fruit on the palate and tainted by the odd ammonia tone. Very tannic and dry but the aftertaste and finish are perfectly pleasant. 81/100. 06-Nov-17.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
