A glass at the end of a really quite lovely wine dinner last night (lots of 2009 St Julien).
From an impeccably stored bottle with the wine well into the neck.
Completely tawnified - a guest who didn't know, or catch, what it was assumed it was actually a tawny.
Sweet orangey caramel liquid, a bit warm on the palate. No great distinction of finish.
Pleasant as a wine but simply not vintage port.
