1980 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Shown at the Symington's 1994 Library Release launch event.

An attractive red colour with a tone of black at the core; 90% opaque. Lovely on the nose, showing bramble fruit, sweet and ripe. Delightful entry, rich bramble palate with tannins hiding in the fruit. A lovely complexity to the palate, rich fruit showing wonderfully. Warm fruit aftertaste and a long blackcurrant finish. This is a terrific bottle showing what this wine can offer, much better than the bottle drunk the previous week at the 1980 Horizontal. 91/100. Tasted 02-Nov-21. Decanted 5 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
