2019 Burmester

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Barros wines are made from grapes sourced from Cima Corgo, Calem from Douro Superior. About 5,000 bottles per brand for the vintage wines. Kopke and Burmester wines are made from grapes from Sao Luiz or Arnozelo.

Final blend, half bottle, 30 minute decant. Sweet and perfumed nose. Wonderful texture to the fruit and palate, fruit which is harmonious and restrained. Great late acidity and ripe tannins. Concentrated acidity on the aftertaste. Big rich finish. 92-94/100. Tasted 01-Oct-2021.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
