1947 Cockburn

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Cockburn 1947 removed from the Cockburn Director’s cellar and decanted for 1 hour. Deep red-amber colour, 60% opaque. Fragrant spiced rose hip nose. A lovely thickness to the wine, full of fragrant sweet fruit; complex and floral. Lovely sweet aftertaste, long rose hip syrup finish. Wonderful Port. 94/100. Drunk 28-Sep-21.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
