site seems slow

Post by Glenn E. »

ThePortForum.com has been rather slow for me for a couple of days. I've rebooted my computer just because, but it's only TPF and not any other sites. It could possibly be something crossing the Atlantic, too, but thought I'd post in case a reboot of TPF is warranted.

Maybe the underwater cable has a nick.

It has come and gone. Right now, for example, it seems fine, but earlier it was taking 2-3 minutes to load a page. Once loaded I could go back and forth easily, but any new load caused a significant delay.

(from UK) I've not noticed any significant delays in loading, only in posting (where there is often significant delay, commonly perhaps > 5-10s)

I’m seeing the same sort of performance.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Perhaps some of the UK Internets have been celebrating the Platinum Jubilee a bit too much over the weekend. Hopefully all will return to normal soon.

It seems to be back to normal today.

Loading and posting were both affected for me. My post prior to this one took probably 90 seconds to complete. But I've been using the site today with no unusual slowness.
