From 750ml. 21%. Studied over a period of six days (so far)

On all days a glossy dark reddish brown.

Day 1 - Nose dumb. Palate rich and powerful but overwhelmingly sultana-sweet. Leave.

Day 2 - Beginning to smell like a deep rich fruit cake. Beginning to taste like a deep rich fruit cake.

Day 4 - Smells like a deep rich fruit cake. Tastes like liquidised fruit cake with whiff of extra brandy.

Day 6 - As Day 4, with a bit more rancio.

For me this is a 'one glass of port' port. It is a very impressive wine, and a very nice wine indeed, taken in that quantity but, a bit like some madeiras, is a little bit too intense for a second glass.
