1982 Churchill

Opened at 07.30, decanted at 14.00 and tasted at 20.15. Mature brick-red colour, 70% opaque. A lovely and fragrant fruit nose, full of raspberry sherbet - very fulsome. Mid-weight with a spicy menthol acidity. Red liquorice on the palate with some tannins still holding the wine together. A lively and intense acidity carrying gentle red liquorice and redcurrant jelly. Sweet, balanced and lingering red jelly baby finish. Very, very nice. 91/100. Tasted 17-Jan-2023.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.

2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!
