NV Kopke Tawny 20YO (bottled 2022)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Kopke 20yo tawny, bottled 2022. Wonderful honey brown colour, 40% opaque. Soft orange and toffee on the nose, makes my mouth water in anticipation! On the palate the wine is wonderfully harmonious, poised between citrus acidity and mellifluous honey. The citrus and fudge flow onto the aftertaste and settle in on the long finish, which is livened up by just a touch of aniseed heat. Lovely Port. I am becoming much more of a committed tawny drinker! Pop and Pour. 91/100. Tasted 21-Jan-23. Decanted 1 hour.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.

2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!
