An impressive dark red, a mature brick-red version of around 60% opacity. Wonderful on the nose! Floral, with rose perfume infused into the amazing fruit; such a wonderful aroma. Smooth texture, slightly thickened and just so full of fruit! A little cranberry, a little Angostura Bitters. The aftertaste moves from caramelised redcurrant slowly and teasingly to red liquorice and just stays on the senses. A wonderful wine which still surprises with its youthfulness. 94/100. 13-Jun-23.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
